You have the means. I have the time.A premium companionship service for independent older adults who want genuine company, conversation, and time that feel unhurried.
I am Milou, the founder of Companion Club and someone who has always loved meaningful connections, shared stories, and a good laugh. I grew up in Mauritius and have called Cape Town home for more than twenty years, long enough to know where the sunsets shine brightest and which bakeries make a croissant worth leaving the house for.My life has taken me through music, hospitality, and media, all careers that taught me how to listen, how to connect, and how to make people feel seen. I have travelled to 59 countries, love reading and board games, run on both roads and mountain trails, and play lawn bowls with far too much enthusiasm.Companion Club began with a simple realisation. I wanted my work to matter. I wanted to spend my time helping someone feel less alone, more alive, and more themselves.Drawing on my background as an award-winning editor, I also offer legacy writing as a separate service, for those who want their stories remembered.
It began with Eli, my dear friend born in 1929, the same year as Anne Frank. We played backgammon, cards, watched reality TV, took long drives, read books, argued, made up, and shared far too many Woolies mini chocolate mousses. She had outlived three husbands and lived alone in Cape Town, and I slowly realised that our time together was doing something quiet but powerful: it was pushing back against loneliness. When Eli passed away, she left me more than memories. She left me a glimpse of my calling. Companion Club grew from that friendship, from the simple truth that connection matters and that life becomes lighter when someone is willing to sit with you, listen to you, and share moments of a day with you. It is my way of helping others who live alone feel less alone, and reminding them they still have so much life to share.
